Why do we still have capital punishment?

The Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996

When Lawyers Stumble, Only Their Clients Fall

If we must have our states kill people for committing crimes lets be sure they do commit the crime and that they are represented by competent lawyers in a front of a competent judge.

Then the executions should be timely and public.  We need to see it.  I suggest the guillotine, it's kind of hard to botch the kill.  Oh, the lanyard should be pulled by the Governor of the state.
